Here we have collected some general information on how you can reach Matera and our residence with various means of transport.

If you arrive in Matera by Train or with Italobus, FrecciaLink and the Airport Shuttle from Bari, you can reach our Residence on foot in two minutes. You just have to take the first street on the right that you encounter going down Via Roma.

If you arrive by car, you will find detailed directions on how to reach the Residence below.

If you arrive by bus Flixbus, Marino, Marozzi whose terminals are in the suburbs, you must use a city bus or a taxi to reach the Residence.

RAILWAYS

Matera is not yet connected to the FS (National Railway Network). It is served by the F.A.L. (Ferrovie Appulo Lucane) narrow gauge railways which connect it to BARI (60 km) in times ranging from 60 to 90 minutes.

Italobus

ItaloBus is an intermodal service of "Italo" that connects the city of Matera with the Central Station of Salerno from which Italo high speed trains depart from and arrive in central and northern Italy.Travelers can use both the train and the bus with a single ticket every day.

Freccialink

Freccialink is a Trenitalia intermodal service which, with modern and comfortable buses, connects Matera to the main Italian cities.In particular, the active links are: 

Matera - Bari C.le in connection with the Frecce to / from Foggia, Pescara, Ancona, Rimini, Bologna, Milan and Turin

Matera - Potenza - Salerno in connection with the Frecce to / from Naples, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Milan and Turin

BY BUS

The Marino coaches connect Matera to Milan, Ancona, Bologna, Chianciano, Fiuggi, Naples, Novara, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Sassuolo and Urbino, as well as to numerous foreign cities. The Marozzi and Liscio bus lines connect the city to Rome, Florence, Pisa and Siena.

Matera is now connected to many Italian cities by the new low-cost FlixBus bus service which can be booked directly from the FLIXBUS website,

TO REACH US BY CAR

From the Tyrrhenian coast:

Take the Salerno - Reggio Calabria motorway and exit at "Sicignano degli Alburni - Potenza". Then continue for Metaponto along the SS 407 "Basentana" to the "Matera - Bari - Altamura" exit near Ferrandina Scalo. Take the SS7 for about 20 minutes, then take the "Matera Centro" exit and continue on Via G. De Robertis, passing the Fire Brigade (which will be on the left). Continue on Via Aldo Moro and then Via Don G. Minzoni, take a short stretch of Via Lucana and take Via Roma. After 50 meters on the left is Vico II Don Minzoni.

From the Adriatic coast:

Take the Bologna-Taranto motorway to the Bari Nord exit. Continue to the industrial area and follow the signs for Altamura-Matera. Near Matera, take the "Matera Centro" exit and continue on Via G. De Robertis, passing the Fire Brigade (which will be on the left). Continue on Via Aldo Moro and then Via Don G. Minzoni, take a short stretch of Via Lucana and take Via Roma. After 50 meters on the left is Vico II Don Minzoni.

From Calabria and Sicily:

Take the Reggio Calabria-Salerno motorway. Exit at Sibari and follow the SS 106 Jonica for Taranto. Take the "Matera" exit, near Metaponto. Near Matera, take the "Matera Centro" exit and continue on Via G. De Robertis, passing the Fire Brigade (which will be on the left). Continue on Via Aldo Moro and then Via Don G. Minzoni, take a short stretch of Via Lucana and take Via Roma. After 50 meters on the left is Vico II Don Minzoni.

From Salento (Southern Apulia):
